About The Position

Primoris IT is seeking a skilled Database Developer to design, develop, optimize, and support database solutions that enable business operations, application integrations, reporting, and data migration initiatives. This role is responsible for writing efficient T-SQL code, developing database objects, troubleshooting database-related issues, and partnering with technical and business teams to deliver reliable, secure, and maintainable data solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of data management practices, and the ability to communicate effectively with project teams, system owners, and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in database development or a related database-focused role.
  • Strong experience writing, troubleshooting, and optimizing T-SQL code, including queries, stored procedures, views, functions, and triggers.
  • Solid understanding of data management practices, including SQL permissions, security, monitoring, performance tuning, and data modeling.
  • Bachelor’s degree in management information systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline; equivalent experience may be considered.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with the Viewpoint Vista database platform.
  • Experience supporting or developing within construction ERP database (SAP, JDE, Sage, Spectrum, CMiC, or Epicor)
  • Prior experience working in the construction industry or supporting construction-related business processes.
  • Experience with SSIS, Boomi or similar integration platforms.
  • Familiarity with SSRS and Crystal Reports is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and analyze business and technical requirements; design, develop, test, and implement secure, reliable, and maintainable database solutions.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize T-SQL queries and database objects, including stored procedures, views, functions, triggers, and conversion scripts, to support business operations, reporting, system integrations, and data migrations.
  • Apply database development and data management best practices, including data modeling, security and permissions, monitoring, performance tuning, storage, organization, coding standards, and maintainability.
  • Support ERP conversion and modernization initiatives through legacy data analysis, data cleansing, conversion scripting, migration validation, reconciliation, and post-implementation support.
  • Troubleshoot database-related incidents, including query performance, application connectivity, failed integrations, data discrepancies, and production defects; identify root causes and implement and document corrective actions.
  • Partner with development, infrastructure, application, and business teams to maintain stable and secure database environments, evaluate database tools and services, and deliver improvements aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Review database code and provide constructive technical feedback to promote quality, consistency, efficiency, and adherence to established development standards.
  • Plan and communicate database-related work by defining tasks, estimating development and testing effort, documenting technical solutions, and reporting status, risks, dependencies, and progress to stakeholders.
  • Participate in change management by documenting proposed changes, assessing risk, preparing deployment and rollback plans, supporting Change Advisory Board reviews, validating production implementations, and promoting knowledge sharing and cross-training within the team.
