About The Position

The primary role of the Database Developer is to build, implement, and maintain SQL databases, interfaces, and SSIS/SSRS to meet the company's requirements for availability, performance, scalability, and security. They will maintain awareness of emerging technologies, best practices, and industry trends. Collaborate with Network Admins, Application Developers, Business Analysts and outside vendors while working within a team environment. They will provide operational support for ongoing processes and systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of 2 years experience working with MS SQL Server
  • Experience with query optimization and transactional data strategies
  • Knowledge of database architecture and design
  • Knowledge of modeling data and developing enterprise database architectures
  • Experience SQL Integration Services (SSIS) or integration tools
  • Experience with database testing
  • Experience with both normalized and de-normalized data
  • Experience with application and data processing concepts
  • ETL and ETL

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Azure SQL, Managed Instance, Data Factory, C#, Python and PowerShell
  • Understanding of middle tier applications consuming data, specifically .NET and web services
  • Familiarity with reporting tools: SSRS, PowerBI
  • Familiarity with Agile Methodology
  • An ideal candidate would be a self-starter who is passionate about user experience and driving business value through technology.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop new database physical and logical structures and assess for new application functionality.
  • Work with application developers on overall application design and architecture
  • Evolve database structures to improve access and maintainability where necessary.
  • Develop and maintain server-to-server integration systems with business partners (publications, FTP, web services, .xml interfaces, APIs, etc.)

  • Document database processes and work with network administrators to plan for back-up, recovery, and high availability.
  • Maintain data availability for applications that are running 24x7.
  • Monitor and improve system health.
  • Utilize database source control tools and best practices.
  • Follow GDPR and JSOX compliance requirements.
  • Other miscellaneous data support tasks.
