About The Position

Corning Incorporated seeks a Database Architect to work full-time in Tewksbury, MA. This role involves developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining production big-data ingestion pipelines using established frameworks, patterns of practice, agile software development, and continuous delivery/deployment. The architect will collaborate with data source teams to define data ingestion requirements for structured, unstructured, and semi-structured data, pilot implementation, and ensure user acceptance. Additionally, the role includes defining and implementing automated validation and profiling capabilities for reliable data delivery, as well as defining and developing data cleansing and enrichment processes to ensure usable final data sets. Up to 10% domestic travel is required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s in Computer Science/Engineering, Mathematics, or related
• 3 yrs. exp. in big data engineering
• 3 yrs. exp. developing & maintaining ETL or ELT pipelines for data warehousing
• 3 yrs. exp. w/ production programming in modern languages (i.e. Java, Scala) & interpreted declarative programming languages (i.e. Python)
• 3 yrs. exp. using SQL & data enrichment to prepare & join data from business consumption systems
• 2 yrs. DevOps exp. using AWS platform services, incl.: AWS storage & elastic compute, DMS, relational databases, Hadoop, RedShift, Lambda, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, or CloudTrail
