About The Position

The Database Analyst will work with County resources and the Oracle implementation team to create Autonomous Databases (ADB) in the Oracle Cloud and ensure data integrity within these databases. This role also involves helping to create and manage Golden Gate.

Requirements

• OCI Cloud Database Services: Comprehensive knowledge of provisioning and managing Oracle Base Database Services (VMs/Bare Metal), Oracle Exadata Database Service, and Oracle Autonomous Database (ATP and ADW).
• Cloud Architecture & Networking: Mastery over OCI-specific cloud configurations like Virtual Cloud Networks (VCNs), Security Lists, Network Security Groups (NSGs), Compartments, and Identity & Access Management (IAM) cloud policies.
• Migration Frameworks: Expertise in transitioning legacy or on-premises databases to the cloud using Oracle Zero Downtime Migration (ZDM), Oracle Data Pump, or real-time replication via Oracle GoldenGate.
• Automation & Orchestration: Proven capabilities in automation using Cloud SDKs, OCI CLI, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) utilizing Terraform or OCI Resource Manager.
• Operating System: Strong knowledge of Windows environment.
• Oracle Database Management: Proficiency in maintaining Oracle database versions 19c or higher.
• Information Management, Computer Science, or any closely related field with at least 5 years’ working experience using HCM, PeopleSoft, JavaScript libraries, SQL and SQR.
• An equivalent combination of experience, education and training will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Work with the County resources and Oracle implementation team to create Autonomous Database(ADB) in the Oracle Cloud.
• Ensure data integrity in Autonomous Database.
• Help create and manage Golden Gate.
• Work alongside application developers to construct primary storage structures and schema objects based on application design.
• Resolve technical conflicts as required.
• Manage maintenance tasks, handle software updates and interface with developers or Oracle support to resolve technical issues.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle RMAN backup and recovery using Commvault.
