About The Position

The Database Analyst Programmer-Associate will support data-driven clinical research at the Glenn Biggs Institute for Alzheimer’s and Neurodegenerative Diseases. Working with cross-site research and operational teams, this role will help translate study needs into reliable data systems, standardized data collection processes, quality-control tools, and meaningful reports. The incumbent will contribute to integrating and analyzing research data that help study teams monitor recruitment, retention, participant populations, and overall progress toward study goals.

Requirements

• Fundamental knowledge in common database operations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel along with a solid understanding of charts and pivot tables, macros and data functions.
• Proficiency in relevant database software and tools.
• Strong analytical skills to resolve complex issues.
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Bachelors degree in a computer Science or related field.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the design, implementation, and maintenance of new and existing databases in a server environment.
• Designs, writes, tests, and debugs database stored procedures and simple queries to extract, calculate or manipulate information.
• Assists in creating database mappings to transform data from multiple systems developing and maintaining integrations between database systems.
• Works with departments to understand data collection, storage, and reporting needs for new systems.
• Assists cross-site research and operational stakeholders with defining business and data requirements, translating operational needs into standardized data models, validation logic, and quality-control processes.
• Builds and maintains reports and dashboards using data from multiple research sources; assists with querying, integrating, and validating datasets and tracking key study metrics, including recruitment, retention, attrition, and participant population characteristics.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
