This is a remote position for J. Spargo & Associates, Inc. The role is responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining client and operational databases. The analyst will also create custom reports utilizing SQL Server Reporting Services, develop stored procedures, triggers, views, and user-defined functions, and manage regular updates for membership, exhibiting company, and session information across multiple databases. The position involves setting up scheduled imports, exports, and reports for clients, configuring badge runs based on specific criteria, and creating, scheduling, and monitoring SQL DTS/SSIS packages for data updates and maintenance. The analyst will utilize various database technologies including MS SQL Server, SQL, MySQL, SQL Loader, SQL Server Management Studio, SQL Sentry, Web Services, .NET, and T-SQL. Responsibilities include gathering functional and business requirements, writing technical specifications, creating database objects (tables, views, stored procedures, triggers, cursors) using DDL and DML statements, and developing stored procedures and views for efficient data retrieval and application development. Performance analysis using DMVs, Wait-States, and Performance Monitor Counters is also required, along with designing and implementing SSIS Packages for data transfer, validation, and archiving across different platforms and DBMS. Day-to-day database maintenance tasks such as monitoring, backups, space management, and resource utilization are expected. The role involves using various SSIS transformations, scripting (VB) for data decryption/encryption, extracting data from diverse sources (SQL Server, Oracle, .CSV, Excel, Text files) via FTP/SFTP, and integrating web service calls with SSIS for data download using SOAP API. Collaboration with the DBA team for SQL server upgrades and assisting the production team with bug analysis and resolution are also key duties.
