About The Position

Staritas is seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to administer, maintain, secure, and optimize the organization’s production and non-production database environments. The role supports healthcare technology platforms by ensuring critical data systems remain reliable, available, performant, and scalable. The DBA works with Engineering, Product, Analytics, Infrastructure, and Software Engineering teams on database operations, design, development, deployment, and optimization, while supporting business and customer needs. The position involves hands-on administration of Microsoft SQL Server, Amazon RDS and Aurora PostgreSQL, and PostgreSQL. Responsibilities include database installations, upgrades, patches, configuration changes, monitoring, troubleshooting, performance tuning, backup and recovery, security, replication, high availability, and disaster recovery. The DBA also supports SQL Server migrations to AWS and uses Terraform pull requests and a deployment pipeline to make platform changes rather than applying changes through the console. This is a fully remote role with travel of up to 10% based on business needs. Employees are expected to attend occasional company gatherings, which may last up to one week, with ample notice. The work is primarily at a desk or workstation and involves use of standard office equipment. The base salary range is $135,000–$150,000 annually, plus benefits.

  • Support backup and disaster recovery using AWS Backup, cross-region copies, regular restore testing, and Aurora Global Database failover.
