Database Administrator

Bixal•Fairfax, VA
•$110,000 - $120,000•Remote

About The Position

Bixal is seeking a Database Administrator to manage the data behind a federal platform supporting governmentwide regulatory planning and review. The system is relied on by federal agencies, oversight offices, and the public, and must remain available 24/7/365 while a modern replacement is developed alongside it. The Database Administrator will keep the existing Oracle database secure, performant, and reliable while leading the migration of decades of regulatory data to the new platform. The work includes mapping legacy data to new models, validating and reconciling migrations, and preserving historical records, identifiers, and public references. The role combines production database administration with careful migration planning and testing, and involves close collaboration with engineers, a security lead, and client technical stakeholders. This is a full-time position on an awarded contract with a 12-month base period and two 12-month option periods. The position is remote from anywhere in the USA. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not provided. The salary range is $110,000–$120,000, with most offers tending to land near the midpoint. The role has a fixed duration, and Bixal states it will keep employees informed about contract updates and new opportunities.
