About The Position

Designs, implements, and maintains the full life cycle of complex databases including Tables, Views, Stored procedures, indexes, functions, jobs, rules and roles, replications, and other database objects. Understands and maintains database interaction with other mission-critical systems. Manages or develops databases with respect to the operating system, access methods, and access time. Creates or maintains database clustering. Creates, monitors and trouble shoots database replications. Provides highly technical expertise in the use of database management systems. Defines file organization, indexing methods, and security procedures for specific user applications. Conducts device allocation, validation checks, organization, and statistical methods. Maintains database dictionaries. Integrates systems through database design. Works in collaboration with Development and Engineering teams. Evaluates and recommends available database management products and services. Follows database standard and plays quality assurance role. Good verbal and written communications skills to effectively deal with customers and diffuse potential problems. Must have good organizational skills, be detail-oriented, and be able to meet agency and customer deadlines.

Requirements

  • Minimum of FOUR years of overall work experience.
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university.
  • Prior experience in supporting MS SQL server 2016, 2019 or later versions
  • Experience supporting production, business-critical database environments.
  • Knowledge of database security, access control, and compliance standards.
  • Hands-on experience with: SQL programming (T-SQL, stored procedures, triggers, functions)
  • Performance tuning and query optimization
  • Backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
  • Database clustering and replication
  • Must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD "PUBLIC TRUST"; candidates must obtain approved adjudication of their PUBLIC TRUST prior to onboarding with Guidehouse.
  • US Citizenship or Green Card required.
