About The Position

ASRC Federal Advanced Research LLC (AFAR) is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to join their Second-Level Engineering (SLE) Compliance and Automation Team that supports the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in Oklahoma City, OK. This is a full-time, on-site position at the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center (MMAC). The SLE Compliance and Automation Team provides shared engineering and IT support services for SLE organizations within the Operational Support Directorate. The team's mission involves automation management of National Airspace System (NAS) engineering and operational processes, including documentation, safety risk analysis, systems security, and NAS information and data sciences support projects.

Requirements

Must be a US Citizen.
Must have resided in the US for three (3) consecutive years.
Must possess a RealID Driver’s License/ID or current US Passport.
Must reside or be willing to relocate within a commutable distance to Oklahoma City, OK.
All non-US Degrees must have a US Equivalency Certificate.
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Management Information Systems, or a Bachelor’s degree in another technical discipline may be substituted depending on other qualifications, and length and type of specialized experience.
Six (6) to Nine (9) years of related work experience.
Proficiency in programming skills using software applications and tools with in-depth knowledge of and experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, or equivalent Database products.
Experience in Oracle PL/SQL development.
Experience in installation and configuration of Oracle database/middleware.
Experience in Oracle database config and monitoring.
Experience in Oracle database administration and development.
Experience in managing users, groups, access controls, security policies and system logs.
Experience in configuration of ports and firewalls.
Experience in configuration of file systems, partitions, and general storage.
Experience in backup and resource management.
Ability to work independently, as well as a team.
Ability to research and problem solve; willingness to learn/try new things.
Ability to communicate effectively through verbal and written communication; including developing technical documentation.

Experience with NAS facilities, systems, and equipment is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Identify user needs to create and administer databases.
Ensure databases operate efficiently and without error.
Make and test modifications to database structures when needed.
Maintain databases and update permissions.
Merge old databases into new ones.
Backup and restore data to prevent data loss.
