About The Position

This position is for Database Administrators to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) – 3 EOM, located at MacDill AFB in Florida. The SITEC 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order provides USSOCOM, its Component Commands, its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), and its deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services. These services include maintaining Network Operations (NetOps), systems and network infrastructure, providing end-user and common device support, configuration, change, license, and asset management, conducting training, and performing Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks are pivotal to USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and ultimately the end-user who operates around the globe 24x7x365. This role requires a strong technical foundation and will be responsible for managing complex database environments, ensuring data integrity and availability, optimizing performance, and implementing robust security and compliance measures. This position requires knowledge and experience in major database management systems, such as MariaDB, Oracle, and PostgreSQL, and the ability to operate efficiently within RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) environments. Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server is also preferred. The Database Administrator - Tier 3 role requires keen attention to detail, a strong customer service orientation, and the ability to work as part of a team.

Requirements

  • Min 16 years with HS degree, 14 years with AS/AA degree, 12 years with BS/BA, 10 years with MS/MA, 7 years with a PHD
  • DoD 8570 IAT II Certification
  • DoD TS/SCI clearance
  • Knowledge and experience in major database management systems, such as MariaDB, Oracle, and PostgreSQL
  • Ability to operate efficiently within RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) environments
  • Ability to pay keen attention to detail
  • Possess a strong customer service orientation
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server
  • Experience with DBMS supporting technologies such as Red Hat Identify Management, Active Directory\EntraID, DNS, PKI, Kerberos, and automation
  • Experience with IT service management practices
  • Deep understanding of DBMS architecture and best practices
  • Familiarity with government and industry security standards, such as STIGs
  • MariaDB Certified Database Administrator OR Oracle Certified Professional OR Azure Database Administrator Associate

  • Work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with other administrators, engineers, and stakeholders across multiple time zones
  • Effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Analyze complex problems and develop innovative solutions to meet the needs of the organization in the cloud and on-premises environments
  • Continuously learn and adapt to new technologies and best practices in cloud and on-premise environments
