About The Position

Designs, installs, maintains and upgrades the Institute’s databases. Works on one or more projects by supporting one or more databases of low to medium complexity with multiple concurrent users, ensuring control, integrity, and accessibility of the data. Expected to work with some oversight, plan and organize database activities regarding reliability, performance monitoring and tuning, security, backup, and disaster recovery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience) and a minimum of three years of experience in computer science, information systems, mathematics, or another related field
• Working knowledge of scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash,etc.)
• Broad level of understanding surrounding information systems and application and/or Web standards
• Knowledge of web applications and the role databases play in a web application stack
• Ability to multi-task effectively
• Ability to adjust to changing priorities
• Ability to breakdown raw information and identify relationships between components
• Basic oral and written communication skills that support transactional activities
• Teamwork skills to effectively collaborate with other members of formal and informal groups in the pursuit of common missions, vision, values and mutual goals
