This position is responsible for enterprise database design, configuration, implementation, maintenance, and support in a Microsoft SQL environment. The role involves installing and configuring Microsoft SQL Server software and related products, performing database design and implementation of data models, and implementing and maintaining database security, including creating and maintaining users and roles. The Database Administrator will also perform database maintenance and application/database performance tuning, maintain and monitor all database servers to ensure system availability, and establish and maintain backup and recovery policies and procedures. This role provides Tier 2 / Tier 3 and 24/7 technical support, interfaces with Microsoft for SQL Server technical support, and provides general consultation to Application Development regarding database design and development. Additionally, the position requires creating and maintaining database documentation and standards, performing database capacity planning, evaluating Microsoft SQL Server features and related products, and analyzing and reviewing the database components of vendor software packages. The role also includes providing project management oversight for enterprise database projects and working closely with the IT Project Management Office to accomplish project-related goals.
