About The Position

Responsible for deploying new releases of in-house CTRM and Analytics applications and developing the database environment, including data replication and synchronization solutions, hardware environments, and database schema definition and design. The role supports high availability, stability, and reliability for the main CTRM and analytics applications used worldwide across Vitol Group.

The position deploys and supports Oracle middleware products and Unix database environments, including servers and storage, Oracle Unix servers and storage, Solaris 11, and NetApp Storage. It monitors databases and proprietary applications, including Oracle 18c, 19c, and 21c, and works with Data Guard, PDB/CDB, RMAN, and performance tools. The role also performs software and hardware maintenance, including upgrades, patching, and installation.

The Database Administrator manages and performs ad hoc projects, supports and interacts with infrastructure, security, network, and application teams in a worldwide context, and resolves user requests.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
• 5 years of experience as an Oracle database administrator.
• 5 years of experience performing database installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, backup and recovery, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• 5 years of experience using SQL and PL/SQL to troubleshoot issues, review code design, and tune SQL queries.
• 5 years of experience managing database security, user access, and database objects, and supporting day-to-day production database operations.
• 3 years of experience supporting Oracle enterprise products, including Oracle Data Guard, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Recovery Manager (RMAN), and multitenant architecture (PDB/CDB) in Oracle 18c, 19c, and 21c environments.
• 3 years of experience supporting Linux and Unix-based Oracle hosting environments in standalone, clustered, and high-availability configurations, including server administration, storage, patching, and performance tuning.
• 3 years of experience deploying and supporting Oracle databases and Oracle middleware products, including Oracle Forms and Reports Application Server.
• 3 years of experience supporting and administering PostgreSQL, MySQL, or other similar relational database environments.
• 3 years of experience supporting HPE infrastructure.
• 3 years of experience configuring and supporting Oracle Unified Directory.
• 3 years of experience monitoring and managing databases and Unix infrastructure in a worldwide environment.
• 3 years of experience supporting infrastructure, security, network, and application teams in a global environment.
