About The Position

Peraton requires Database Administrators to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) – 3 EOM. This position is located at MacDill AFB in Florida. The purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provide USSOCOM, its Component Commands, its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), and its deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network Operations (NetOps); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user and common device support; provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and ultimately the end-user who operate around the globe 24x7x365. This role requires a strong technical foundation and will be responsible for managing complex database environments, ensuring data integrity and availability, optimizing performance, and implementing robust security and compliance measures. This position requires knowledge and experience with SQL Server, and prefers familiarity with other major database management systems such as MariaDB, PostgreSQL, or Oracle. The Database Administrator must demonstrates the ability to pay keen attention to detail, possess a strong customer service orientation and have the ability to work as part of a team.

Requirements

  • Min 9 years with HS degree, 7 years with AS/AA degree, 5 years with BS/BA, 3 years with MS/MA
  • DoD 8570 IAT II Certification
  • DoD TS/SCI clearance
  • Knowledge and experience with SQL Server

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with other major database management systems such as MariaDB, PostgreSQL, or Oracle
  • Experience with DBMS supporting technologies such as Active Directory\EntraID, DNS, GPO, PKI, Kerberos, and automation
  • Experience with IT service management practices
  • Deep understanding of DBMS architecture and best practices
  • Familiarity with government and industry security standards, such as STIGs

Responsibilities

  • Design, install, configure, and maintain secure and scalable database systems in on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot high availability/disaster recovery solutions such as failover-cluster instances and availability groups.
  • Identify and resolve performance issues.
  • Implement and maintain administrative and technical controls for DBMS security.
  • Work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with other administrators, engineers, and stakeholders across multiple time zones.
  • Effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Analyze complex problems and develop innovative solutions to meet the needs of the organization in the cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Adapt to new technologies and best practices in cloud and on-premise environments.
