Database Administrator
About The Position
Acture Solutions is seeking a Database Administrator to support a confidential K-12 education client in Westchester County, NY. This onsite position is responsible for administering and maintaining the client's student information systems and related educational databases while ensuring data accuracy, supporting state reporting requirements, and providing technical support to district staff. Working closely with technology leadership and administrative teams, you'll help maintain reliable data systems that support daily school operations, compliance, and informed decision-making. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience administering databases or enterprise information systems.
- Experience working with SQL-based databases.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience developing reports and validating large data sets.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while providing excellent customer service.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working in a K-12 educational environment.
- Experience supporting Student Information Systems (SIS).
- Knowledge of New York State education reporting requirements (SIRS, NYSTP, or similar).
- Experience with Microsoft Access.
- Experience with Google Workspace.
- Experience supporting education software platforms.
- Experience training or assisting end users.
Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain student information systems and related databases.
- Monitor data integrity and ensure the accuracy of student, staff, and operational data.
- Prepare and submit required New York State education reporting.
- Develop standard and custom reports to support administrators and staff.
- Process data imports, exports, and routine system integrations.
- Assist with student enrollment, attendance, scheduling, demographics, and related records.
- Troubleshoot database issues, system errors, and data discrepancies.
- Support district testing administration and validate assessment data.
- Respond to staff questions and provide technical support related to student information systems.
- Assist with user account management and system security.
- Document database procedures, workflows, and system configurations.
- Collaborate with Technology Department staff to improve data quality and operational efficiency.
- Assist with knowledge transfer and cross-training to support long-term continuity.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
