About The Position

The Senior Database Administrator will be responsible for creating physical database designs and operating and administering the database management system (DBMS). This includes tasks such as database optimization, capacity planning, installation and migration, database design, performance tuning, and backup and recovery.

Requirements

10+ years of proven experience in database administration, including database design, implementation, maintenance and support
5+ years of experience in PL/SQL, creating data ETL procedures and packages, and query optimization techniques
Hands-on experience with DBMS operations such as installation, configuration, migration, and upgrades
Strong knowledge of performance tuning, optimization, and capacity planning
Experience with one Oracle and SQL Server
Experience working with On-Prem and Cloud Technologies such as Azure and OCI Platforms
Experience with RAC, Golden Gate, Data Guard Technologies
Experience with information retrieval tools and query languages such as TOAD, OEM and DB Artisan
Experience with one or more operating systems
Experience with one or more database technologies
Experience in the use of information retrieval packages and proficiency with query languages
Experience in monitoring and enforcing database rules
Experience with Incident, Problem, Change, Configuration and capacity planning Management procedures
Experience in Cloud migration
Experience with one or more communications protocols

Basic understanding of communication protocols and networking concepts relevant to databases
Ability to support database connectivity and integration across systems
Experience with multiple operating system such as Linux, Unix, and Windows
Working knowledge of one or more programming/scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell)
Experience coordinating implementation of technically advanced complex systems resources to lower non-production environment
Strong ability to troubleshoot complex database issues and optimize system performance
Ability to document processes, designs, and operational procedures clearly
Experience in providing complex/specialized systems analysis and design for success
Communicates effectively to drive technical outcomes with technical staff/teammates
Demonstrated critical thinking and decision-making capabilities

Experience with distributed data systems
