About The Position

This role involves providing assistance in the planning, development, maintenance, and monitoring of integrated database systems, ensuring that the conceptual and design phases of new applications are consistent with the structural parameters within the database environment. The position requires evaluating users' requests for new data elements and systems, incorporating them into the existing shared data environment, and providing technical assistance. The DBA will coordinate the use of data to ensure data integrity and control redundancy, load databases, and reorganize as needed. Responsibilities include performing data modeling and prototyping, logical and physical data modeling, designing relational database models, and creating physical data models from logical data models. The role also involves performing security recovery procedures, determining and implementing database search strategies and storage requirements, and maintaining the data dictionary to ensure uniformity of definitions and setting standards for its use. The DBA will monitor database performance and recommend efficiency improvements, create test database environments for applications, and execute procedures to save, retrieve, and recover databases from hardware and software failures. Additionally, the position assists with determining, implementing, and enhancing standards on database security, monitoring agency disaster recovery procedures and systems, installing database software, analyzing, designing, and implementing databases, and benchmarking and threshold testing of databases. The role also assists in the selection of database management software and ensures that user interfaces comply with accessibility standards, providing support to users when accessibility issues arise. Candidates will be subject to a pre-employment security review. The role supports the installation of database software and migrations, analyzes, designs, modifies, and maintains database structures, designs and implements recovery procedures, establishes and implements security controls, evaluates and recommends database software, and prepares documentation. The DBA will perform logical and physical data modeling, monitor performance, and assist in modifying existing databases and developing standards for database integrity.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Enters codes to create production data base.
