Database Administrator - Assistant Vice President

About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator to manage and optimize on-premise Oracle Autonomous Database (Oraas), MongoDB, and Big Data systems, with a focus on modernizing these databases to private cloud solutions. This role requires strong expertise in database administration, high availability, migration strategies, and cloud-based database services. Candidates with hands-on experience in Starburst, Iceberg, or Databricks are highly preferred. This job description provides a high-level review of the types of work performed. Other job-related duties may be assigned as required.

Requirements

Proven experience with Oracle Autonomous Database, MongoDB, and Big Data systems.
Expertise in high availability, disaster recovery, performance tuning, and cloud integration.
Strong background in migrating databases to AWS and GDP.
Proficiency in PL/SQL, NoSQL, and cloud resource management.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

Hands-on experience in Starburst, Iceberg, or Databricks.

Responsibilities

Manage and optimize on-premise databases (Oraas, MongoDB, Big Data).
Implement high availability, disaster recovery, and performance tuning for both on-premise and cloud environments.
Develop backup/recovery strategies and ensure compliance with security standards.
Automate database management tasks to improve operational efficiency.
Lead database migrations to AWS and GDP Database Services, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.
Monitor and manage cloud resources in AWS and GDP, ensuring scalability, cost-effectiveness, and security.
Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure successful cloud migrations and integrations.
