About The Position

As a Database Administrator - Advisor I, you will manage and maintain database environments that support critical business operations and client-facing solutions. You will work with application development, infrastructure, and support teams to improve database performance, availability, and security. Your work helps ensure reliable data operations, strong system integrity, and scalable database services across the enterprise.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in database administration supporting production database environments for government clients
  • 6+ years of experience using SQL for database support, Databricks, Fabric and Azure.
  • Experience implementing database security controls, user access management, and data protection practices
  • Experience with backup and recovery processes using database administration and recovery tools
  • Experience administering relational database platforms such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Cosmos, or equivalent database technologies
  • Experience using automation and scripting tools such as Python, Shell, or similar scripting languages
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent combination of education, related experience and/or military experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with cloud-based database solutions such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure
  • Experience with database design and architecture
  • Experience supporting database migration projects
  • Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB

Responsibilities

  • Administer, maintain, and optimize database systems to support high availability, performance, and reliability
  • Monitor database performance, analyze issues, and implement changes including patches, upgrades, and configuration improvements
  • Partner with application development and infrastructure teams to support efficient database design and improve application performance
  • Execute backup, recovery, and restoration processes to protect data and support business continuity requirements
  • Apply database security controls, maintain data integrity, and support compliance with established standards and operational procedures
  • Develop, document, and follow database administration processes, standards, and support procedures
