Database Administrator

We are seeking an experienced and motivated database administrator to join our team at Edge & Node. As a database administrator, you will play a critical role in scaling and managing the databases that support The Graph Studio and Hosted Service. Your responsibilities will include supporting database design initiatives, troubleshooting system issues, optimizing database performance, and maintaining database-related documentation. Previous experience with PostgreSQL databases and the ability to collaborate effectively with a multinational team are essential for this role. • Supporting database design initiatives and ongoing support/administration of databases for Edge & Node's hosted service
• Troubleshooting, refreshing, and refactoring database instances
• Performing system preventative maintenance for databases
• Developing and maintaining database-related documentation
• Installing, configuring, and administering Postgres databases/shards
• Managing refreshes of test, staging, and development environments
• Monitoring database performance and optimizing performance of databases and queries
• Previous experience in administration, monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of PostgreSQL databases
• Providing advice on performance improvements and new features in application's database usage
• Monitoring and troubleshooting Postgres databases
• Participating in rotating on-call duty during working hours
• Familiarity with Rust or another low-level language desired, but not required
• Ability to collaborate effectively asynchronously with a multinational team spanning numerous time zones.
