  • Familiarity with enterprise incident, change, backup, and recovery processes.

Responsibilities

  • Support the migration of existing SQL Server databases from an end-of-life hosted platform to a new hosted platform.
  • Perform database migration, validation, and post-migration testing to ensure databases are functioning correctly in the new environment.
  • Provide day-to-day break/fix and incident response support for the SQL Server environment.
  • Administer and troubleshoot Microsoft SQL Server databases across multiple versions, including SQL Server 2008–2019.
  • Perform database architecture, configuration, performance troubleshooting, and operational support.

  • Validate database connectivity, functionality, performance, and application dependencies following migrations or infrastructure changes.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and project teams during migration and remediation activities.
  • Provide operational coverage and support to help free the dedicated DBA from day-to-day production support so they can focus on project and migration work.
  • Document database changes, migration activities, troubleshooting steps, and operational procedures.
  • Provide support for a small Oracle database footprint as needed.
