About The Position

Cigna-Evernorth Services Inc. seeks a Database Administration Senior Advisor for the Austin, TX location to provide counsel and advice to top management on significant Database Administration & Management matters, often requiring coordination between organizations. This role involves developing complex database systems, analyzing requirements, designing and implementing databases, interpreting issues, and recommending solutions. The advisor will also liaise with vendors, review systems, potentially participate in vendor selection, lead project teams, and provide thought leadership and technical expertise. This position is recognized as the go-to person for the most complex Database Administration assignments and operates on a hybrid work schedule.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field and 3 years of experience in any database administration role. Will accept a Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience.
  • Experience with SolarWinds Orion
  • Experience with AWS
  • Experience with Oracle
  • Experience with PostgreSQL
  • Experience with Database performance tuning
  • Experience with data replication tools including Oracle GoldenGate, Qlik Replicate, and IBM InfoSphere Data Replication
  • Experience with Splunk
  • Experience with Dynatrace
  • Experience with service metrics dashboard creation
  • Experience with Product lifecycle management
  • Experience with product upgrades
  • Experience with troubleshooting data mismatch issues
  • Experience with hybrid cloud environment management
  • Experience Creating solutions using Generative AI (Gen AI) and Large Language Models (LLMs)
  • Experience with network encryption setup
  • Experience with security compliance
  • Internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload if working at home occasionally or permanently.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the most complex database systems for the organization.
  • Coordinates with senior leaders to determine requirements.
  • Analyze, design, create and implement complex databases including access methods, device allocations, validation checks, organization and security.
  • Interpret internal or external issues and recommends solutions/ best practices.
  • Design complex data models, logical and physical databases, data dictionaries and schemas.
  • Liaison with database software vendors and external technical support on issues such as software upgrades, problems, and potential solutions.
  • Review systems under development and related documentation.
  • May participate in vendor selection and relationship management.
  • Lead project teams, monitoring project schedules and costs.
  • Focus on providing thought leadership and technical expertise across multiple disciplines.
  • Recognized internally as “the go-to person” for the most complex Database Administration assignments.
