About The Position

KēSTA I.T. is actively seeking an experienced Data Warehouse Architect for an immediate contract engagement with a government client. This role is responsible for leading the design, support, and optimization of enterprise data warehouse environments. The architect will ensure reliable data availability, manage data integration frameworks, support security and change management processes, and drive performance and scalability improvements across complex data platforms. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Teradata, Linux, ETL processing, and enterprise data architecture, with the ability to provide technical leadership and resolve complex data system challenges.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of hands-on Teradata experience.
  • Strong experience supporting data ingestion from multiple source systems.
  • Minimum 5 years of Linux experience.
  • Expertise in ETL processes, batch scheduling frameworks, and data integration workflows.
  • Experience managing data warehouse code promotion and change management processes.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise security models, user access controls, and audit compliance.
  • Experience with data profiling, data quality validation, and data standardization techniques.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills for complex data platform issues.
  • Experience monitoring system performance and implementing optimization solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in team-based environments.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong decision-making skills with the ability to balance technical solutions with organizational standards and policies.

Responsibilities

  • Design, support, and maintain enterprise data warehouse architecture and batch processing frameworks.
  • Manage data warehouse change management processes, including code promotions, DDL deployments, and build engineering activities.
  • Oversee security structures and access controls across Linux-based ETL environments and data warehouse platforms.
  • Manage data platform security, user access authorization, and compliance reviews.
  • Conduct data architecture reviews and audits to ensure alignment with enterprise standards and governance requirements.
  • Support and troubleshoot escalated data warehouse and ETL issues across multiple systems.
  • Monitor system performance and implement solutions to improve reliability, scalability, and efficiency.
  • Manage and support complex ETL workflows integrating data from multiple source systems.
  • Perform data profiling, quality assessments, cleansing, and standardization activities.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery, backup, and system resiliency strategies.
  • Lead initiatives to migrate warehouse processes to standardized enterprise frameworks.
  • Evaluate and recommend emerging data technologies and tools to enhance platform performance.
  • Collaborate with development teams, leadership, stakeholders, and external vendors to support ongoing data initiatives.
  • Provide technical training, troubleshooting guidance, and mentorship to development teams.
  • Identify and remediate audit findings related to security, compliance, and data system operations.
