Data Warehouse Architect/BI Developer
About The Position
Virginia Department of Elections (ELECT) is seeking a skilled and experienced Data warehouse and BI Developer to join our team. As an Data warehouse and BI Developer, you will be responsible for data preparation jobs, data analysis and data reporting. You will regularly work with 3rd parties or government agencies to exchange data, which will require a familiarity with secure file exchanges, data encryption, change control, auditing best practices, and data matching logic. We are looking for someone with a background in creating automation scripts and queries in an SQL environment. Because this position regularly works with databases owned by government agencies outside of ELECT, you will need to be comfortable with technical troubleshooting, creating technical documentation, and using your expertise to explain issues to stake holders with different levels of technical expertise across the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Requirements
- Experience performing data warehouse architecture development and management (4 Years)
- Exceptional experience developing codes, testing for quality assurance, and monitoring of database (4 Years)
- Gathering of business requirements and creating architectural designs (4 Years)
- Strong experience with technologies such as SQL Server, SSIS and stored procedures (4 Years)
- High level proficiency with working with large, complex data sets, relational databases, and data warehouses
- High level proficiency with creating, maintaining, and auditing ETL processes in relation with SQL server technologies
- High level proficiency with SQL Server Integration services (SSIS)
- High level proficiency with T-SQL and writing complex SQL queries
- High level proficiency with business intelligence products
- High level proficiency with scheduling and automation of ETL processes and file processing
- High level Proficiency in writing reports for high profile groups
- Proficient in writing technical documentation
- Proficient in SQL Server 2008,2012,2014,2016
- Proficient with source control, change control, and software development life cycle (SDLC)
- Proficient working with secure file exchange protocols like SFTP
- Proficient in admin scripting to automate processes
- Proficient working with data encryption methods
- Experience working with 3rd parties or government agencies to exchange data
- Understanding of data matching logic or fuzzy lookups
