About The Position

We are seeking a Data Warehouse Architect 2 to support the Data Management Team in building and advancing enterprise clinical data capabilities. This position will play a key role in designing clinical data architecture, integrating data from multiple source systems, and developing scalable processes for cleansing, transforming, and organizing healthcare data into a unified longitudinal data framework. The Data Warehouse Architect 2 will support the Virginia Department of Health Data Management Team by designing and implementing enterprise clinical data solutions that improve data quality, accessibility, and long-term usability. This role is responsible for creating clinical data models, integrating data from multiple healthcare systems, coordinating data extraction activities, and developing data processing and cleansing routines that enable reliable reporting and analytics across the organization.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in Data Architecture.
  • 5 years of experience in Data Processing.
  • 3 years of experience working with Oracle Health (formerly Cerner).
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future.
  • Must physically reside within the United States for the duration of the assignment.
  • Must complete a webcam interview as a condition of consideration.

Nice To Haves

  • 5 years of experience with Python.
  • 2 years of experience with Google BigQuery.
  • 2 years of experience with Google Cloud Infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Design conceptual and logical data models to support an enterprise clinical data domain.
  • Develop scalable data architecture that enables longitudinal clinical data management across multiple source systems.
  • Define data standards and integration strategies to improve consistency and usability.
  • Identify and map common data elements across disparate healthcare source systems.
  • Design and implement processes to merge data into a unified clinical data framework.
  • Coordinate data extraction and export activities with source system owners.
  • Develop and implement data cleansing, transformation, and processing routines to improve data quality.
  • Partner with the VDH Data Management Team to support enterprise data initiatives.
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure clinical data is accurately integrated and maintained.
  • Support ongoing improvements to clinical data management processes and architecture.
