About The Position

The Data Visualization Administrator is responsible for administering, supporting, securing, and optimizing the enterprise Power BI environment. This role ensures the availability, performance, governance, and effective use of business intelligence platforms while partnering with business and technical teams to deliver reliable dashboards, reports, semantic models, and analytics solutions. The position also uses SQL, Python, and ETL knowledge to troubleshoot data issues, automate administrative activities, and support data integration across the organization.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Engineering, Business, or a related field
Five years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI, including administration, governance, workspace management, gateways, refresh operations, semantic models, and production support
Two years of experience using Python for automation, data processing, integration, or administrative scripting
Strong knowledge of SQL, relational databases, data modeling, and query troubleshooting
Good understanding of ETL concepts, data integration, transformation logic, data quality, and source-to-target data flows
Experience supporting enterprise business intelligence and analytics environments
Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products and applications
Obtain and maintain one or more applicable gaming licenses in multiple jurisdictions
Advanced knowledge of Power BI tenant administration, workspaces, capacities, gateways, semantic models, dataflows, and deployment pipelines
Knowledge of Power BI security, governance, audit, sharing, licensing, and lifecycle management
Strong SQL skills and knowledge of relational database management systems
Proficiency in Python, data processing, and operational support
Understanding of ETL architecture, data integration patterns, data quality, metadata, and lineage
Ability to diagnose and resolve report, refresh, gateway, security, access, and performance issues
Knowledge of dimensional modeling, semantic modeling, DAX, Power Query, and visualization best practices
Demonstrated analytical, critical-thinking, organization, and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills with a strong customer-service orientation
Demonstrates self-awareness and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
Mohegan corporate and department policies and procedures
Appropriate regulations that pertain to Mohegan information systems
Power BI platform administration, governance, security, and support procedures
Enterprise change management, incident management, and service management processes

Nice To Haves

Experience with Snowflake and Informatica in an enterprise environment is considered an asset
Microsoft Power BI administration or related Microsoft certification is a strong asset
Familiarity with Informatica administration and development concepts is an asset

Responsibilities

Administer and maintain Power BI tenants, workspaces, capacities, gateways, dataflows, semantic models, and deployment pipelines.
Monitor platform health, refresh schedules, usage, performance, and capacity to ensure a reliable and scalable analytics environment.
Implement and maintain role-based access, workspace standards, row-level security, sensitivity labels, sharing controls, audit monitoring, and data governance practices.
Partner with Cybersecurity, Compliance, and data owners to ensure analytics assets meet enterprise policies and regulatory requirements.
Provide advanced technical support for Power BI dashboards, reports, semantic models, data refreshes, gateways, and connectivity.
Troubleshoot complex performance, access, and data-quality issues and coordinate resolution with appropriate technical teams and subject matter experts.
Use a strong understanding of SQL and ETL concepts to validate source-to-report data flows, analyze transformation logic, and support integration between source systems, data platforms, and Power BI.
Develop and maintain Python scripts to automate platform administration, monitoring, metadata collection, quality checks, and recurring support activities.
Integrate with approved APIs and services where appropriate to improve operational efficiency.
Establish and promote standards for workspace design, naming, dataset ownership, refresh scheduling, semantic modeling, report development, and lifecycle management.
Analyze capacity and query performance and recommend improvements to models, reports, and data pipelines.
Support controlled promotion of Power BI content across development, test, and production environments.
Create and maintain platform documentation, architecture diagrams, operating procedures, support guides, inventory records, and data lineage information.
Work with business stakeholders, developers, analysts, and data teams to understand reporting requirements and platform needs.
Provide guidance, training, and best practices that improve adoption, self-service analytics, and responsible use of enterprise data.
Execute approved work requests and participate in analytics and data projects based on business priorities.
Stay current with Power BI platform enhancements, administration capabilities, governance practices, Python automation, SQL, and modern data integration methods.
Work onsite at Mohegan Sun CT three days per week.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Maintain accurate time reports in accordance with Mohegan Information Systems policies.
May be required to carry a cell phone and participate in an on-call rotation.
