About The Position

The Data Systems Engineer is an integral member of a government/contractor team supporting our customer's operations organization. This role requires an individual with technical experience administering Linux servers within a virtual environment. The role requires implementing security compliance for the systems. The individual’s work encompasses interfacing with advanced systems, with data processing capabilities across a multi-network environment.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) and approximately 4+ years of experience.
At least four (4) years of recent experience implementing systems processes and/or software development methodologies, planning, designing and analyzing functional system processes - either hardware or software-based systems.
Active TS/SCI with Poly is required. Candidates who do not currently possess a TS/SCI with Polygraph will not be considered.
Demonstrated experience with Linux system administration and engineering.
Demonstrated ability to devise solutions for complex problems that require in-depth analysis of tangible and intangible factors.
Experience working as a member of a multidisciplinary project team that may include engineers, technicians, and analysts.
Significant verbal and written communication skills necessary to effectively collaborate in a team environment; present and explain technical information to colleagues, management or sponsors.

Experience and a demonstrated record of success developing and implementing innovative solutions for a diverse range of highly complex multi-disciplinary problems and devising corrective actions where necessary.
Experience configuring, deploying, and maintaining (IdAM) solutions, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and PKI enablement systems.
Experience with container and virtualization technologies such as Docker, VMware, or RedHat Virtualization.
Experience with RDBMS such as Oracle and PostgreSQL, or XML and JSON based semi-structured technologies.
Experience with software development in Java, C, C++, C#, or other programming or scripting languages.
Experience working with both users and developers to properly capture and translate system use cases to technical requirements.
Experience investigating and documenting existing system architectures.
Experience supporting operations.

Responsibilities

Administering Linux servers within a virtual environment.
Implementing security compliance for the systems.
Interfacing with advanced systems with data processing capabilities across a multi-network environment.
Maintaining operational security posture for information systems and performing day-to-day security operations of the system, to include scans and security audits.
Providing configuration management (CM) for information system security software, hardware, and firmware.
Developing and implementing innovative solutions for a diverse range of highly complex multi-disciplinary problems and devising corrective actions where necessary.
Configuring, deploying, and maintaining (IdAM) solutions, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and PKI enablement systems.
Investigating and documenting existing system architectures.
