About The Position

The Data Support Analyst supports a variety of data issues on 3rd party vendor applications and Cetera’s proprietary systems that support financial advisors and their clients. The Analyst will be responsible for supporting these applications and will serve as a subject matter expert working with both vendors and internal teams to find solutions. Primary work is ticket management with an emphasis on researching data issues to identify scope of impact, root cause, and communicating effectively with relevant teams. This role is part of Cetera’s Digital Solutions department and will primarily be responsible for Salesforce tickets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Computer Science, or Information Systems.
  • 3+ years of experience in technology and user support, with an emphasis on data.
  • Experience working with vendors or product sponsors.
  • Strong initiative, proactive, and ability work through tickets in an organized and timely manner.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Strong ticket management and follow up
  • Ability to find solutions to escalations with a sense of urgency.
  • Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to identify scope of impact and root cause of an issue.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to articulate across multiple departments and get to the point quickly.
  • Strong technical skills with ability to learn new tools and platforms.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior Broker-Dealer experience working with financial advisors.
  • Knowledge of SQL and/or Advanced Excel, working with large data sets.
  • Experience in the finance industry supporting end users on data issues on financial web-based applications.
  • Prior experience using Salesforce and/or JIRA.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for data issues / requests within proprietary systems and vendor platforms.
  • Collaborate with sponsors, vendors, and internal teams to deliver effective solutions.
  • Identify scope of impact, and root cause of an issue.
  • Analyze data using SQL and/or Excel with ability to derive meaningful insights.
  • Creating reports using SQL and/or Excel.
  • Resolve complex issues with a thorough understanding of systems’ abilities and advisors’ needs.
  • Provide Supervisor and/or Manager with progress of data issues, especially urgent/escalated items.
  • Work with vendors to understand application functionalities, integration, and reporting capabilities.
  • Work with vendors to build new data feeds or improve existing ones to include certain products or data elements.
