About The Position

The role of a Data Solutions Engineer sits at the intersection of business requirements and production data systems, translating complex, cross-functional problems into scalable and well-architected data solutions. The position focuses on designing and delivering data solutions across modern AWS-based data platforms, ensuring seamless integration between operational and analytical systems. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, lead solution design efforts, and enable downstream teams through strong documentation, handoff processes, and reusable design patterns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering and analytics on modern data platforms
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with dbt or similar data transformation frameworks
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience working with large-scale datasets
  • Hands-on experience working with AWS services such as S3, Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, Redshift, and Kinesis
  • Strong experience designing and implementing dimensional data models and enterprise data warehouse solutions
  • Strong understanding of change data capture (CDC) concepts and data pipeline design patterns
  • Experience with CI/CD and infrastructure automation tools such as AWS CDK, CodePipeline, or similar
  • Experience with Python and familiarity with Jinja templating or PySpark
  • Experience working in agile environments and collaborating with distributed/offshore teams
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in a quantitative or technical field
  • Experience with consent management tools (e.g., OneTrust)
  • Experience designing solutions for martech, customer engagement, or personalization platforms
  • Familiarity with data privacy, regulatory, and governance frameworks
  • Experience building reusable frameworks or reference architectures

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., Marketing, Analytics, Privacy, Legal) to translate business problems into scalable data solutions
  • Lead discovery sessions and define solution architecture, including data models, pipelines, and integration patterns
  • Produce clear design artifacts such as data models, schemas, data contracts, sequence diagrams, and runbooks
  • Embed privacy-by-design principles, including consent management, PII classification, and data governance controls into all solutions
  • Lead proof-of-concepts (POCs) and support vendor/tool evaluations
  • Develop and maintain data models, transformations, and packages using dbt with strong lineage and documentation
  • Design and build scalable AWS-based data pipelines using services such as S3, Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge, and Kinesis
  • Design and optimize Redshift solutions, including distribution/sort keys, workload management, and cost-performance tuning
  • Build and define integration patterns between data platforms and external systems (e.g., martech, personalization, activation platforms)
  • Establish CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) standards using tools such as Terraform or AWS CDK
  • Define testing strategies, monitoring, and observability frameworks for production readiness
  • Create runbooks, define SLAs/SLOs, and enable operational handoff to downstream engineering teams
  • Contribute reusable components, reference architectures, and best practices to improve team-wide delivery standards
