About The Position

We are seeking a high-performing, collaborative, and adaptable Data Engineer with strong software development foundations and a passion for AI-driven data solutions. In this role, you will design, build, and optimize enterprise-scale data pipelines and reporting solutions that process high-volume cybersecurity and vulnerability data. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, transforming complex stakeholder needs into efficient technical architectures while integrating security data from leading enterprise vendor tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience required demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
  • Four or more years of experience working with Python or other similar OOP languages (Java, C#, C++).
  • Proven experience building ETL/ELT data pipelines (SSIS, Apache Airflow, Talend, Alteryx, or custom Python orchestration).
  • Hands-on experience operating on large-scale enterprise datasets.
  • Experience working with SQL or similar technology (T-SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL).

Nice To Haves

  • Practical experience interacting with vendor APIs, pagination, error handling, and payload ingestion.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling techniques within visualization tools (Looker, Tableau, SSRS, or Splunk).
  • Proficiency in productivity suites (Google Workspace, Microsoft Office), especially data presentation tools (slides, sheets, etc)
  • Basic understanding of application security practices and secure coding principles.
  • A positive, kind, and team-first mindset with a strong work ethic.
  • High degree of initiative; ability to work independently while seamlessly collaborating on team projects.
  • Excellent time-management and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience leveraging AI/LLM data tools, predictive analytics.
  • Ability to dive in and perform deep data exploration, using tools such as SQL, Looker Explore, JupyterLab, etc.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud analytical platforms (Google BigQuery, Snowflake, or AWS Redshift).
  • Experience with vector embeddings or RAG architectures for cybersecurity analytics.
  • Experience translating executive or senior stakeholder requests into technical deliverables and presenting findings to non-technical leadership.
  • Experience building custom analytical web applications or front-end dashboards for enhanced user experience (HTML, CSS, JS, any modern frameworks, etc)
  • Direct experience extracting and transforming data via APIs from security platforms such as: Vulnerability & Endpoint: Tenable (API export), CrowdStrike, Armis, Axonius, Threat & Risk Intelligence: Shodan, BitSight, Flexera, and IT Operations & Service Management: ServiceDesk, ServiceNow, JIRA.
  • Prior experience analyzing enterprise-scale telecommunications or cybersecurity data formats.
  • Familiarity with vulnerability management concepts, including CVEs, zero-day vulnerabilities, and remediation workflows.
  • Experience using Agile management platforms (Jira, Smartsheet, Asana, etc).
  • Experience with version control systems (Git/GitHub/GitLab) for codebase management

Responsibilities

  • Architecting, building, and maintaining scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, SQL, (or similar tools) and enterprise orchestration tools to process large-scale cybersecurity datasets.
  • Ingesting, transforming, and normalizing data from diverse external vendor platforms (e.g., Tenable, CrowdStrike, Axonius, ServiceDesk) using different types of APIs (REST, GraphQL, Webhook, etc).
  • Designing end-to-end data models and interactive dashboards/reports for executive and technical audiences using tools like Looker, Tableau, SSRS, or Splunk.
  • Implementing baseline security controls and secure coding best practices across all data integration points and analytical web applications.
  • Bridging the gap between technical metrics and business outcomes by converting leadership requirements into actionable data products and executive presentations.
  • Prioritizing tasks independently, managing workloads efficiently, and participating actively in Agile delivery workflows.
