About The Position

We are seeking a Data Security Architect/Engineer to help drive enterprise data protection initiatives across cloud and on-premises environments. The role focuses on improving security processes, leveraging existing tools, and ensuring compliance with data privacy and regulatory requirements. The position is a contract role based in Charlotte, NC, with a hybrid workplace arrangement.

Requirements

• Experience in data security architecture and engineering.
• Strong knowledge of cloud security and data protection concepts.
• Experience with Varonis, DSPM, or similar data security technologies.
• Understanding of GDPR and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Ability to translate business and compliance needs into practical security solutions.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and enhance data security solutions across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Assess current security controls and identify opportunities to improve processes.
• Leverage existing security tools, including Varonis and cloud-native capabilities.
• Provide guidance on GDPR and other regulatory requirements.
• Partner with stakeholders across the U.S. and Europe to align security initiatives.
• Help coordinate projects and drive security efforts to completion.
• Support a growing data security team with technical leadership and best practices.
