About The Position

MANTECH International Corporation is seeking a motivated Data Scientist for a future opportunity in Springfield, VA. This is a full-time, onsite position supporting national security through advanced technology solutions in areas like Digital Transformation, Cybersecurity, IT, Data Analytics, and Software Development. The Data Scientist will be responsible for maintaining and implementing the data architecture for all Program data, including databases, cloud architectures, and compliance with data standards. This role involves managing data backend workflows across security domains and systems, ensuring data operations are seamless and secure.

Requirements

  • 18+ years of relevant experience; BA can account for 4 years while a MA/MS can account for 6 years of experience.
  • 4+ years of experience working with SQL or NoSQL databases and cloud architectures.
  • Experience leveraging APIs to query systems and migrate data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate challenging technical concepts to both lay and expert audiences.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Java.
  • Experience developing, sustaining, and monitoring operational data pipelines supporting multiple data formats and interfaces.
  • Must have a current/active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a polygraph.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with NGA IT enterprise solutions (e.g., NGA CORE, NGA MLOps), Government Authority to Operate (ATO) processes, and Government Non-Person Entity (NPE) certificates.
  • Experience implementing processes, standards, and tools within an organization based on the Scaled Agile Framework for Enterprise.
  • Experience developing dynamic visualizations to monitor availability, currency and volumetrics of operational data pipelines.

Responsibilities

  • Create the necessary infrastructure to store and process data related to emergent sensors and platforms, including database tables, schemas, data health alerts, and ETL pipelines.
  • Apply knowledge of scripting tools, programming languages, standards, and software packages to build data pipelines for data consumption supporting mission needs.
  • Support data analytics, data cleansing, analyst workflow efficiencies, and transformation for ETL capabilities.
  • Manage the generation, approval, and population of data into databases, ensuring compliance with security regulations and customer requirements.
  • Conduct regular Quality Control (QC) and monitor content to ensure alignment with data standards and requirement specifications.
  • Assess and report the current state of compliance of data holdings, monitor data and standards changes, and adjust data architecture accordingly.
  • Maintain data availability, accuracy, consistency, and reliability for all training data operations.
  • Create and maintain Government-directed and approved software and computing environments for data preprocessing, including NPEs, software environments for development, and Gitlab repositories.
  • Support data pipeline setup and maintenance for data preprocessing activities across all security domains.
