About The Position

Whop is looking for Data Scientists to help build the company’s decision system. You’ll own the data layer behind how we understand growth, product performance, marketplace dynamics, and financial/operating health. You’ll work directly with product, growth, finance, and leadership to answer the questions that determine where Whop should invest, what is working, what is breaking, and how we scale faster.

Requirements

Experience working in a data science, analytics, or strategic data role at a high-growth technology company.
Experience turning ambiguous business questions into clear analysis, metrics, and recommendations.
Ability to work with messy, incomplete, or fast-changing data.
Strong product and business judgment; you can tell the difference between interesting analysis and useful analysis.
Clear communication with technical and non-technical teams.
High agency: you do not wait for perfect instructions before finding important problems to solve.
Comfort operating close to founders, leadership, product, engineering, growth, and finance.

Nice To Haves

Experience in marketplaces, fintech, consumer products, creator platforms, or high-growth startups.
Strong SQL and comfort working with messy production data.
Experience with tools like BigQuery, Metabase, Mixpanel, GA4, or similar.
Ability to explain complex analysis simply and influence decisions without overcomplicating the work.
Strong product intuition and commercial judgment.
Bias toward action; you care more about useful answers than perfect models.

Responsibilities

Turn messy product, marketplace, and financial data into clear operating insights.
Build dashboards, metrics, and analyses that leadership and teams actually use to make decisions.
Identify growth drivers, retention patterns, funnel issues, marketplace quality signals, and monetization opportunities.
Partner with product and engineering to define metrics, improve instrumentation, and measure launches.
Create board- and leadership-ready views of company performance.
Proactively surface anomalies, risks, and opportunities before teams ask for them.
