About The Position

Peraton is seeking a mid-level Data Scientist to analyze and help resolve issues related to U.S. national security. The role contributes to intelligence production and helps create internal capabilities that enhance the effectiveness of analytic teams. The ideal candidate has experience supporting the Intelligence Community (IC), strong attention to detail and time management skills, and can work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. This position is contingent upon contract award.

Requirements

• Current TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
• A BS/BA and 5+ years of relevant experience, an MS/MA and 3+ years of relevant experience, or a PhD and 0+ years of relevant experience; 4 years of additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Data science background and experience using multiple programming languages, such as Python, R, and Ruby.
• Ability to recommend and provide technical support for improvements to data management and database creation.
• Experience correlating and interpreting large amounts of data and clearly and concisely documenting findings.
• Experience with data visualization and reporting.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to use critical thinking to resolve issues independently with minimal supervision.

• Knowledge of IC policies and procedures and ability to apply that knowledge to meet customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Analyze data collection and recommend opportunities to automate processes.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners on data collection strategies and opportunities to enhance collection.
• Support data ingestion, use, and management while ensuring activities follow applicable customer and community standards.
• Maintain quality standards set by program leadership and support corrective actions as needed.
• Work with colleagues on initiatives to improve customer tools and close capability gaps.
