About The Position

CACI is seeking a talented Data Scientist to join our team in Charlottesville, VA. In this role, you will support the Defense Intelligence Agency’s (DIA) Data Science, Analysis, and Targeting 2 (DSAT2) program—an effort central to delivering the advanced intelligence insights needed to address critical national security challenges. As a key member of the DSAT2 team, you will collaborate with government, military, and contractor partners to design and develop customized applications, tools, and workflows that enhance all‑source data exploitation, visualization, and analysis. Creativity, technical curiosity, and a collaborative mindset are essential as you help build impactful, mission‑focused solutions for some of the most complex data problems facing the intelligence community.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph
  • Master's degree in mathematics, statistics, operations research, engineering, science, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 6 years of data science or data engineering experience, with demonstrated ability to produce comprehensive written reports
  • Proficiency with statistical tools such as Python, MATLAB, SPSS, SAS, S‑PLUS, and R
  • Strong programming skills for extracting, transforming, and cleaning multi‑terabyte datasets
  • Significant hands-on data science/engineering experience within the past 2 years

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using data visualization tools such as Tableau to build and maintain dashboards
  • Skills in Python, JavaScript, RStudio, and PowerShell
  • Experience designing and developing data processing, exploitation, and analysis tools within the JWICS environment

Responsibilities

  • Apply statistical methods to analyze large, complex datasets and extract meaningful insights.
  • Automate and optimize processes for data extraction, cleaning, transformation, and analysis.
  • Maintain and refine data models to ensure accuracy, relevance, and usability.
  • Validate and assess statistical approaches used in existing models and algorithms.
  • Perform data science and data engineering tasks independently and with minimal guidance.
  • Prepare clear, detailed reports explaining methodologies, results, and their impact on assigned issues.
