About The Position

Equifax is seeking a Data Scientist to join their Entity Resolution/Keying & Linking team within Global Data & Analytics. In this role, you will manipulate large data sets, integrate diverse data sources, data types, and data structures into solutions under management guidance. You will develop analytical approaches to meet business requirements and explore integrating AI methodologies within their Entity Resolution System. This involves translating requests into use cases, test cases, preparation of training data sets, and iterative algorithm development. You will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI technologies, conduct Proofs of Concept (POCs) to stay at the forefront of technological advancements, and combine technical execution with creative problem-solving to build reliable data prototypes and uncover patterns within complex data. A solid foundation in mathematics or statistics and a passion for data mining and machine learning are essential.

Requirements

• BS degree in a STEM major or equivalent discipline (Mathematics, Statistics, or Computer Science preferred)
• 2-5 years of experience in a related analytical role, including experience with the design and development of predictive models
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, with practical experience writing utility scripts.
• Competent understanding of cloud computing concepts, with practical experience working in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or a similar cloud environment.
• Experience transforming unstructured/structured data into optimized data models, troubleshooting pipeline bottlenecks, and ensuring data readiness.
• Solid experience with version control (Git)

Nice To Haves

• Cloud certification strongly preferred
• A Master's degree or higher is strongly preferred in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Operations Research, Statistics or other related disciplines.
• Knowledge, understanding, and experience with Data Engineering
• Exposure to credit/financial data products or prior project/academic experience with Entity Resolution and identity matching concepts.
• Hands-on experience with Google BigQuery, BigTable, Dataflow, or big data processing frameworks like PySpark/Scala.
• Prior knowledge on developing Machine Learning algorithms for production systems.
• DevOps basics and exposure to CI/CD integration workflows
• Ability to communicate and present effectively and efficiently to all levels.

Responsibilities

• Work with key stakeholders to understand their needs, utilize combined knowledge of data structures, analytics, algorithms/models, and strong computer science fundamentals to prepare datasets, conduct analytics, develop, test & enhance tools to help D&A teams globally.
• Develop deployable solutions with guidance from more senior resources.
• Leverage knowledge of data structures and algorithms to analyze and prepare data for analysis, assembling data from standard and new data sources.
• Analyze and prepare complex and new data sources and incorporate them into analytical solutions.
• Work on moderate complexity tasks in problems often within multiple business or analytical domains, collaborating with other teams to develop predictive models, risk assessments, fraud detection, recommendation engines, etc.
• Package, summarize, and visualize analytical findings and results for management.
• Evaluate the work of peer and/or junior data scientists to ensure high-quality solutions.
• Conduct A/B testing to determine the best of multiple techniques / algorithms.
• Leverage and implement Google Cloud Platform (GCP) technologies, keeping up with cloud advancements to propose optimization and automation improvements including agentic workflows.
• Collaborate actively with regional and global Equifax teams to share insights, standardize workflows, and adopt best practices.
