About The Position

SAIC is seeking a Data Scientist to join their team at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. This role will support the Advanced Analytics Team in utilizing the Army Vantage Data Analytics System to build/implement models, use/create algorithms, and create/run simulations. The Data Scientist will conduct analysis of mission data applicable in multiple domains, formulate and interpret problems in mathematical or computational terms, and design, develop, use, and evaluate mathematical models, methods, and algorithm applications to solve customer problems. Responsibilities include developing, maintaining, and enhancing complex software algorithms for processing-intensive analytics, novel process development, and manipulation of large data sets. The role also involves researching analysis products and tools for integration, creating new tools and applications using various software languages, frameworks, and libraries, and improving, supporting, and testing an MLOps framework. Additionally, the Data Scientist will refine and enhance existing applications to better meet customer mission requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of relevant experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD or JD and zero (0) years or more experience; additional four (4) years of experience accepted in lieu of graduate degree.
  • Relational database expertise in database storage, SQL queries, and primary/foreign keys.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in programming languages such as Python, typescript, Java, and/or JavaScript.
  • Demonstrated on-the-job knowledge of providing data analytics solutions.
  • Hands-on experience creating algorithms and engineering tools for data processing and modeling and simulation.
  • Practical understanding in machine learning deployment with a focus on optimization, including theoretical and numerical methods for refinement of models.
  • Must be able to obtain a full Secret Clearance; Interim Secret required prior to start.
  • Must be a Current U.S. Citizen.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Palantir Foundry/Vantage preferred but not required.

Responsibilities
