Data Scientist (REMOTE)
About The Position
Signet Jewelers, the world's largest retailer of diamond jewelry with over 2,800 stores globally, is seeking a Data Scientist to join its Enterprise Analytics team. This role will focus on contributing to pricing and promotion optimization initiatives, involving hands-on experience in building machine learning models, performing exploratory data analysis, and collaborating with business stakeholders to deliver actionable insights.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in data science or advanced analytics roles
- Proficiency in Python (Pandas, scikit-learn, statsmodels) and SQL
- Solid understanding of statistics, machine learning fundamentals, and data wrangling
- Exposure to time series forecasting and basic econometric concepts
- Strong analytical mindset and ability to work in a collaborative environment
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with retail analytics or pricing/promotion modeling
- Familiarity with cloud-based ML platforms (e.g., AWS SageMaker)
- Knowledge of MLOps practices and deployment pipelines
- Interest in Generative AI applications for retail
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the team to develop and enhance machine learning models that support pricing and promotional strategies
- Perform data exploration and analysis to uncover insights that drive business outcomes
- Contribute to the design of scalable, interpretable solutions for retail applications
- Partner with stakeholders to translate analytics into actionable strategies for pricing and promotions
- Support continuous improvement through monitoring, evaluation, and scenario planning
- Assist in building automated data pipelines for model refresh and reporting
- Participate in cross-functional discussions to align analytics with business goals
