The Buyer Success Product Analytics team at eBay is responsible for setting the strategic direction of eBay, including its ambition, market positioning, and winning strategies. This team plays a crucial role in shaping the future of eBay's C2C marketplace by informing investment decisions to foster balanced growth, engagement, and marketplace vibrancy. They collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Design, and Business leaders to define success across the entire buyer journey and ensure data-driven decision-making at scale. The role involves a Data Scientist (L24) taking a leadership position in advancing eBay’s C2C strategy across key buyer experiences such as Homepage, Discovery & Recommendations, View Item, and Community surfaces. The individual will own data analysis for high-impact product domains, create the measurement and experimentation roadmap, and develop robust metrics, segmentation, and evaluation frameworks to optimize personalized discovery, trust, and buyer-seller engagement within a C2C marketplace. This role requires acting as a strategic thought partner to stakeholders, translating complex data into clear narratives and actionable recommendations to drive buyer and seller engagement, increase marketplace vibrancy, and deliver incremental GMB/GMV.
