About The Position

The Data Scientist will work within the Provost’s Office on projects that support data-informed decision-making. The role partners with key stakeholders to deliver analyses and insights addressing student success, enrollment trends, rankings, and program evaluations. The candidate will design, conduct, and interpret statistical analyses using common statistical software and techniques, and will contribute to multiple projects while meeting deadlines.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Statistics, Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Sciences, or a related field.
• Experience designing, conducting, and interpreting statistical analyses using common statistical software tools such as SAS, R, SPSS, or Python.
• Experience with statistical techniques such as regression modeling, machine learning, data mining, and clustering.
• Experience working in a team environment.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in query writing, such as SQL.
• Proficiency in visualization software, such as Tableau.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with workflow automation tools such as Alteryx.
• Experience in higher education.
