Data Scientist (Open Continuous)

National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency•Saint Louis, MO

About The Position

Data Scientists translate complex national defense and intelligence questions and business problems into actionable insights using advanced mathematical, statistical, and scientific techniques. They develop and apply methods such as probabilistic modeling, artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML), and computer vision (CV) to identify, collect, process, and analyze large volumes of data. This open continuous announcement builds a pool of qualified applicants; there is no immediate opening. Applications will be reviewed as staffing needs arise, with multiple selections and placements across the agency. Work may involve analytic operations supporting GEOINT mission partners, including analysis of imagery holdings, machine-learning outputs, computer-vision results, and other GEOINT mission datasets. Data Scientists work on teams with analysts and other data professionals. Office missions may include business analytics, model development, and GEOINT mission and data. Duties range from analyzing data across different systems to modeling GEOINT mission data, working with mission partners on data needs, developing complex solutions across deployed systems, and integrating new data into existing workflows. The position may be eligible for a recruitment incentive. Any incentive is subject to eligibility requirements and a service agreement; repayment of a prorated amount may be required if the agreement ends early.
