About The Position

Jerry.ai is seeking Data Scientists to join their Data Science & Analytics team. This team acts as a force multiplier, driving data insights and informing decision-making across product, growth, tech, and operations. Data Scientists are embedded within business units to define problems, conduct analyses, build reports, design experiments, and surface insights that move key metrics. The role involves owning the analytical function end-to-end for a business unit, defining metrics, running analyses, and bringing recommendations to counterparts in product, growth, finance, or operations. The company is expanding rapidly, aiming to grow from 5M to 50M customers and become a $10B business in the next 4 years, with a need for 4-6 new Data Science team members to drive impact in areas such as Growth Marketing, Product Development, AI & Automation, and Strategic Partnerships. The company emphasizes a results-oriented culture with no corporate fluff, focusing on work that materially changes the business trajectory.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience at a consulting firm, investment bank, or high-growth technology company.
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to pull, structure, and interpret data independently.
  • Track record of owning ambiguous problems and delivering impact.
  • Clear, persuasive communicator who can influence decisions at the leadership level.
  • First principles thinker: Break ambiguous problems into clear hypotheses before touching data.
  • Analytically strong (comfortable with SQL or Python).
  • Direct communicator: Can walk a skeptical stakeholder through a complex finding and get buy-in quickly. Writes clearly, speaks precisely, and doesn't bury the lede.
  • Owner: Acts like their name is on the door. If something is broken, feels responsible for fixing it, even if it’s outside of their swim lane.

Responsibilities

  • Define the right problems: Understand what business question an analysis is answering and what decision it will inform. Push back if the question is flawed.
  • Data and insights: Define metrics, build reports, run analyses, design experiments, and surface data insights that move your team's key metrics.
  • Drive outcomes: Bring recommendations to counterparts in product, growth, finance or operations, tell them what's happening and why, and what next steps should be.
