About The Position

The Buyer Success Product Analytics team is responsible for setting the strategic direction of eBay: our ambition, where we play, and how we win in the market. We play a meaningful role in crafting eBay’s C2C marketplace future. We inform investment choices to encourage balanced growth, engagement, and marketplace vibrancy. We partner closely with Product, Engineering, Design, and Business leaders to define success across the end-to-end buyer journey and ensure data-driven decisions at scale. We are seeking a Data Scientist (L24) to take a leadership role in accelerating eBay’s C2C strategy across core buyer experiences, including Homepage, Discovery & Recommendations, View Item, and Community surfaces (e.g., My eBay and key engagement initiatives). In this role, you will own data analysis for one or more high-impact product domains. You will create the measurement and experimentation roadmap. You will develop robust metrics, segmentation, and evaluation frameworks. These frameworks will optimize personalized discovery, trust, and buyer–seller engagement in a C2C marketplace. You will act as a strategic thought partner to Product, Engineering, Design, and Business stakeholders, translating complex data into clear narratives and actionable recommendations that drive buyer and seller engagement, increase marketplace vibrancy, and deliver incremental GMB/GMV. This is a high-impact role influencing how millions of buyers discover outstanding inventory and how buyers and sellers connect and transact across the eBay ecosystem.
