About The Position

Elder Research Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of MANTECH international Corporation seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Data Scientist to join our team in Springfield, VA. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Work directly with clients, managers and technical staff to understand business needs. Develop technical plans, and deliver data-driven analytical solutions that solve client problems. Create and deploy predictive models from a wide variety of data sources and types using the latest mathematical and statistical methods.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Data Management, Data Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, or bachelor�s degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science.
• A minimum of 3 years of professional experience that includes data extraction, ingestion, and modeling.
• Experience with Python
• Experience with writing advanced SQL queries
• Knowledge of model evaluation approaches including techniques for improving initial model development and deployed models
• Ability to work with client Subject Matter Experts to understand business rules and translate them to technical specifications
• Communicate clearly both verbally and in writing to teammates and clients
• Must have an active TS/SCI + CI Poly

Nice To Haves

• Experience with behavioral analytics
• Experience with Oracle Apex
• Experience with fine-tuning BERT-style modeling for downstream NLP tasks
• Experience with large language models
• Familiarity with developing GPU enabled AI/ML solutions
• Experience using Git-based version-control, such as Github/Gitlab
• Familiarity with building CI/CD pipelines
