About The Position

DXC Technology is seeking a Data Scientist to join their team in Crystal City (DC Area). This role involves developing and deploying data-driven solutions, including statistical analysis, feature engineering, and predictive modeling. The Data Scientist will work with machine learning algorithms, programming languages like Python and SQL, and cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud. Responsibilities include creating and operationalizing machine learning pipelines, optimizing pricing, recommending best practices for the data science lifecycle, and coordinating with multiple teams to support client business needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong communication and problem-solving ability, with a commitment to continuous improvement and high standards in data science practices.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7+ years in the IT industry, with at least 3+ years as a Data Scientist.
  • Experience in domains such as Food, Banking, Aviation, Automobile, and Manufacturing.
  • Master’s degree in Data Science or a related field (e.g., MS Data Science from Drexel University).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science (e.g., BE Electronics and Communication Engineering or Computer Science Engineering).
  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to the nature of the work and to obtain the required security clearance.

  • Relevant certifications such as Python for Data Science, Data Visualization Using Python, Machine Learning with Python, Azure Fundamentals, Azure Data Fundamentals, Databricks Lakehouse Fundamentals, AWS Partner: Generative AI Essentials, AWS Cloud Quest: Cloud Practitioner, and Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate.
  • Demonstrated success in deploying scalable machine learning solutions and automating processes.

Responsibilities

  • Proficiency in data-driven solutions, including data extraction, data wrangling, statistical analysis, feature engineering, and predictive modeling methodologies.
  • Experience with machine learning algorithms such as Linear Regression, Logistic Regression, Support Vector Machine, Naive Bayes, Decision Tree, Random Forest, K-means, K Nearest Neighbors, Boosting, and ensemble methods.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and SQL.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms including Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud.
  • Experience with data analytics, data science operations, and deployment of models on cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
  • Experience with tools like Power BI, Tableau, Jupyter Notebook, Google Colab, JIRA, and GitHub.
  • Experience with monitoring and dashboarding tools such as Grafana and Datadog.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and operationalize machine learning pipelines, optimize pricing, and recommend best practices for data science lifecycle.
  • Experience in coordinating with multiple teams and supporting client business needs.
  • Proven track record in standardizing code sharing and data sharing methodologies.
  • Must be able to engage in discussions with clients to identify and gather business needs.
  • Ability to analyze existing project frameworks, identify gaps, and propose enhancements.
  • Experience in integrating cloud services and creating dashboards for monitoring and managing model metrics and logs.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, leadership, adaptability, teamwork, critical thinking, and creativity.
  • Ability to translate technical insights into actionable strategies and foster collaboration across teams.
