About The Position

Our consultants on the AI and Data Defense and Security team help clients maximize the value of their data and automate business processes. This high performing team works with clients to implement the full spectrum of data analytics and data science, from data querying and wrangling to data engineering, to data visualization, dashboarding, and business intelligence (BI), to predictive analytics. Our services enable our clients to define their information strategy, enable mission critical insights and data-driven decision making, reduce cost and complexity, increase trust, and improve budget justifications and decision-making. This individual will support organizational and mission goals within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This role requires hands on technical expertise and strong communication skills.

Requirements

  • Must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DHS "PUBLIC TRUST"; candidates must obtain approved adjudication of their PUBLIC TRUST prior to onboarding with Guidehouse.
  • Bachelors Degree
  • THREE (3) or more years of experience in data analytics, data science, business analytics or data engineering

Nice To Haves

  • Strong communication and presentation skills and ability to explain technical topics to non-technical audiences
  • Strong UI/UX capabilities for dashboard development
  • Familiarity with PowerApps
  • Familiarity with cloud-based analytics environments (such as, Databricks, Palantir, AWS, Azure, or Google)
  • Experience with SQL
  • Ability to gather requirements and present to clients with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of ETL/ELT processes and tools for data integration

Responsibilities

  • Design and development of data visualization and dashboard solutions to provide required analytics insights using Power BI
  • Leading and reviewing, data cleaning scripts using R
  • Maintain and enhance dashboards, analytics solutions, and reporting tools used in operational and strategic decision-making
  • Apply structured critical thinking to break down complex client challenges, assess root causes, and develop clear, data‑driven recommendations that improve decision‑making and project outcomes
  • Ensure high‑quality delivery across all work products by conducting thorough reviews, validating accuracy, and maintaining consistency with client standards, internal methodologies, and contractual requirements
  • Manage competing deadlines and shifting priorities effectively by organizing work, communicating proactively, and maintaining steady progress across multiple workstreams in a fast‑paced environment
  • Support business development (such as RFP, RFQ, and RFI responses and white papers), internal firm initiatives, and ongoing professional development
