About The Position

The Actuarial department of the Crum & Forster Accident & Health division has a unique opportunity to bring on a multi-talented individual to join this fast pace, dynamic team. We are looking for a junior-to-mid level data professional to support and improve the team’s data workflows, backend processes, and reporting infrastructure. This person will be responsible for working on a broad range of analytics projects to support and further develop our existing analytics initiatives to deliver key information in real time. This role will focus on SQL development, data transformation, validation, workflow support, and Python-based automation, while partnering with the broader team on downstream analytics and reporting needs. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically strong, and able to work independently on recurring processes, data troubleshooting, and process improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience in data analysis, data operations, analytics engineering, reporting infrastructure, or a related role
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases
  • Proficient in Python for scripting, data processing, or workflow automation
  • Experience with data transformation, validation, ETL workflows, and repeatable backend processes
  • Familiarity with version control tools and collaborative development practices
  • Familiarity with structured development lifecycle processes, including testing, documentation, and controlled deployment of data workflows

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with predicative analytics/ML models a plus
  • Experience working in a regulated environment with established controls and documentation standards is a plus
  • Experience with Tableau or Power BI is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Support and improve backend data workflows, recurring data processes, and reporting infrastructure used by the team
  • Build and maintain automation tools to improve data preparation, reporting support, and workflow efficiency
  • Investigate data quality issues, identify root causes, and help implement sustainable fixes and controls
  • Document data sources, transformation logic, validation checks, and workflow steps to improve maintainability and continuity
  • Support productionized data workflows by helping manage updates, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining operational stability
  • Follow structured practices around version control, testing, documentation, and change management to support reliable data processes
  • Partner with team members and stakeholders to translate business needs into practical data solutions
  • Provide reporting and dashboard data support as needed, in partnership with BI-focused team members
  • Implement and assess predictive models to support broad functional areas across the division
  • Other duties as assigned
