Data Scientist

Lunar Solar Group
•ANG 110,000 - ANG 130,000

About The Position

Lunar Solar Group is hiring a Data Scientist for its Data Strategy & Insights (DSI) team. The role helps clients understand what is driving growth from paid media by bringing together multi-touch attribution, incrementality testing, and media mix modeling. The Data Scientist partners with a Data Strategist to determine measurement approaches, design tests and models, and present findings and recommendations to clients and internal teams. The Data Scientist owns the statistical rigor of the measurement framework, including model assumptions, validation, diagnostics, and experiment design standards. The role works closely with media buyers, strategists, and account leads, and reports to the Sr. Director of Data Strategy. Recommendations should be data-backed, clearly communicate confidence and caveats, and help clients make budget decisions. Success includes a steady cadence of well-designed incrementality tests, calibrated media mix models for priority clients, and trusted recommendations.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in applied data science or marketing analytics, including at least 2 years of hands-on marketing measurement experience.
  • Direct, regular experience running at least one of media mix modeling, incrementality testing, or multi-touch attribution on real ad spend, and working knowledge of the other two.
  • Strong grounding in causal inference, including experimental design, power analysis, synthetic control, and difference-in-differences.
  • Experience building media mix models that include adstock, saturation, and calibration with experiment results, using a framework such as Google Meridian, Meta Robyn, or PyMC Marketing.
  • Understanding of attribution limitations, including walled gardens, signal loss, and view-through credit.
  • Proficiency in Python, including pandas, statsmodels, and scikit-learn, and in SQL.
  • Ability to explain statistical results to non-technical audiences in writing and live client conversations.
  • Comfort managing several clients or projects at once and owning ambiguous questions from scoping through delivery.
  • Willingness to deliver evidence-backed findings, including unwelcome findings when the data calls for them.

Nice To Haves

  • Agency experience supporting multiple clients with different levels of data maturity.
  • Experience with experiment tools such as GeoLift or CausalImpact.
  • Experience with a cloud data warehouse such as BigQuery or Snowflake, and Git.
  • Experience with Meta Ads, Google Ads, GA4, and Shopify data.
  • Experience with measurement for Amazon, retail, or offline channels.
  • Familiarity with third-party measurement platforms such as Northbeam, Triple Whale, Rockerbox, or Haus.
  • Working knowledge of R.
  • Dashboarding experience in Looker Studio, Tableau, or similar.
  • A degree in statistics, economics, data science, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

  • Own the statistical rigor of DSI's measurement framework, including model specification, assumptions, validation, diagnostics, and experiment design standards.
  • Partner with the Data Strategist to plan measurement approaches for clients and design, launch, and evaluate incrementality tests across Meta, Google, and other paid channels.
  • Conduct power analysis before experiment launches and set standards for sample sizing, test duration, and success criteria.
  • Build, calibrate, and refresh media mix models for priority clients, use lift test results to ground models, and deliver response curves and budget scenarios.
  • Evaluate multi-touch attribution outputs, audit third-party measurement tools, and establish guidelines for when attribution should and should not guide decisions.
  • Reconcile attribution, experiments, and modeling into a unified point of view on channel value, explaining disagreements among measurement sources.
  • Present findings with the Data Strategist to clients and internal teams in plain language, with clear recommendations, confidence levels, and caveats.
  • Clean, validate, and join data from ad platforms, web analytics, and commerce systems before modeling.
  • Turn repeat work into reusable code, templates, and a shared testing calendar to scale measurement across clients.
  • Help media buyers and strategists improve their measurement fluency.

Benefits

  • Competitive benefits including 100% paid Medical, Dental, Vision, STD, LTD, and Life insurance.
  • 401K with company match.
  • Generous PTO and holidays, plus a day off during your birthday week.
  • Accelerated career growth and leadership opportunities.
  • Direct mentorship and collaboration with senior leaders across departments.
  • A talented, supportive, and passionate team.
