About The Position

The Data Scientist-Mid will support Defense & Intelligence Programs at U.S. Army Special Operations Command (USASOC) located at Ft. Bragg, NC which supports the broader U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) Intelligence Data Science Team efforts. This role involves contributing to specific programs and projects, developing data-driven solutions to complex business challenges, and utilizing advanced tools and computational skills to interpret, connect, predict, and make discoveries in data. The position will evaluate the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and gathering techniques, use predictive modeling to optimize customer experience and business outcomes, and work with stakeholders to identify opportunities for leveraging company data. There may be opportunities to develop processes and machine learning based tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy. The role may also involve coaching and reviewing the work of less experienced professionals and working independently under general supervision.

Requirements

  • Current DoW TS/SCI Clearance required.
  • 5-8 years of related experience, including academic or internship-based data science work.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
  • Proficiency in Python and Bash, including API development and data manipulation.
  • Familiarity with SQL and large-scale systems such as PostgreSQL, Hive, or Trino.
  • Basic understanding of ML concepts and familiarity with Flask or FastAPI.
  • US Citizenship Required

  • cloud or ML-related certifications preferred.
